FAQ's

Q ~ Do you sell the digital, Hi-Res files?  Do you sell a dvd with all the images from the session proofs?

There are two ways we will furnish a digital high res file. The first would be for you to purchase a print, wrap, album etc. When you do we will provide a high res file of the image we used. If you do not wish to purchase prints, wraps, albums etc. then we will sell the use of the high res files as a JPG for a price agreed on at the time of the shoot. Each image will be charged for and downloaded at 300 dpi. These images will not be allowed to be altered from the files we send. All creative rights will be held by W5.

We will sell a DVD with all the images we allow for viewing when, and if, an agreed upon amount has been spent towards the production of an album, prints or wraps.

Q ~ How do I book a session with W5 Photography?

There are two ways that you can book a session with W5.  You can either call us and / or you can email us in the contact section.

Q ~ How long will my session take?

Your session will typically take between 1-2 hours.  We are passionate about spending the time with you and making your portrait session an experience.  We want you to feel that you got what you wanted out of the session.  We don't want you to feel rushed, so if you need more time, it is not an extra cost to add more time.  We typically don't book more than 2 sessions a day so that we can spend the quality time with each session.

Q ~ What if it is raining on the day of my session?

If it is raining on the day of your session, we will give you options.  We try to stay up on the weather and will check it a couple of days in advance of your shoot.  Since we do have a studio, we give you the option to either have a studio session for some portraits and then reschedule for an on location shoot if that is what you booked originally.  If you do not want to do a studio session, then we will reschedule you for another on location shoot as soon as possible.

Q ~ What if I need to reschedule my session?

We ask that you give us at least 72 hour notice if you need to reschedule.  We understand if sometime comes up or an emergency happens.  IF you have a child who is sick or not feeling good and you know they are not going to be able to sit for a picture, we would ask that you reschedule.  It will be easier for both of us not worrying about a fussy child.  If you wait and try to reschedule the day before, you will lose your print credit which is $50.

Q ~ What type of clothing do I need to wear?

We believe that what you choose to wear and the props you choose to bring with you can make / break a portrait.  Your props want to be something that means a lot to you and / or your family.  Remember, you don't want the prop to take over the photo or be the main focus.

Here are a few reminders when choosing your outfit for your family and / or yourself.

Simple is always better.

Clothing for small groups: Couples or small groups should choose simple garments within the same tonal ranges.  When subjects appear in a mixture of light and dark tones together, there is a visual confusion.  The light color comes forward and the dark color recedes.  When this happens, one person becomes dominant and appears heavier than in reality.

Make sure you pay attention to your shoes.  Some feel that tennis shoes are more comfortable, however if they are bright in color, your eyes seem to go straight to the shoes and not the person.

Q ~ What do I need to bring with me?  Can I bring something that I want to incorporate in the photos?

We hope that you do bring something that means something to you and/or someone else.  We love to incorporate those special treasures in each session.  We just ask that you let us know what that something special may be.

As for what to bring, we always ask that you bring extra clothes.  We also ask that if you are getting a family session done, that you bring extra snacks for the children if they need them.  We just recommend that it be a snack that is easy to eat and not messy.

Q ~ Why do I need to sign a contract?

Signing a contract is protection for both W5 Photography and the client. This is a professional contract holding both parties to an agreement of professionalism and performance.

Q ~ What is the ordering process like?

Q ~ What types of products do you offer?

We also offer video capability that can be used for social media along with special apps that can showcase your images on your applicable mobile device(s). Q ~ Do you offer Al La Carte pricing on the prints?

We do offer Al La Carte pricing.

Q ~ How long will it take to see the proofs?

We normally say around 2-3 weeks for portrait sessions, and around 3-4 weeks for any weddings.  There is always sometimes when we get extremely busy and it may take longer.  If that happens, we will email you and let you know how much longer it will take us.
